The teenage years, is a time in which high school students are faced with important decisions. This is an influential phase in life as they are transitioning into young adults . Post-secondary education is critical, as a matter of fact, it is a credential crucial for economic success; inevitably, in some cases, it is the opposite. As pressure intensifies near the end of high school, it is essential for students to unconventionally take time off school -- not learning -- before proceeding on to postsecondary education, to ensure a promising future. To begin with, there are several reasons why it is essential to step back and challenge the notion of the traditional route to success, that weââ¬â¢ve been told. The ability to learn outside of school enables one to be more mature and prepared for the real world. Not to mention, having a confident amount of time invested planning on what school and program to study thoroughly, will provide a greater profit. What is the point on going to school and expending amounts of energy on something that is unstimulating? It is just like shooting a fish in a barrel with no fish in the barrel to begin with. The only thing out of it is the year s worth of depression and your hard earned money saved up from the minimum wage part time job. Conversely, some might argue that going to postsecondary education, immediately is the best way to become successful, and taking a year off from school is just a waste of time.
